MFW- Dolce & Gabbana S/S 2014

With today being the last day of Milan Fashion week, i've been able to look over my favourite designers and choose my 'Best in show' from the past week. I won't lie, it was a tough decision between a range of different shows.

                        Gucci                      Cavalli                        Armani

Gucci went for a laid back approach with models supporting barely dry scraped back hair and minimalist make-up but the same couldn't be said for the clothing. With a sports luxe effect shining through with silk track pants and matching silk blouses, I enjoyed the fishnet mesh oversized tee's and matching bra tops in the same material. They contrasted great with the art deco printed skirts pictured below. Roberto Cavalli showed a glamorous show with a powerful and wild side. The alligator biker jackets and python print dresses were a top hit and one of my favourite's was the most delicate subtle degrade pastel pink evening gown. Giorgio Armani's show 'Lights & Shadows' displayed stunning fluttery, chalky pastel chiffon dresses and stunning block suits that would be the envy in any office. Armani show's his passion for clothing real women who need those viable wardrobe solutions, whatever they are doing. He will certainly have these ladies looking for pretty frocks and wearable designer, flooding through his doors for this new collection.

  Dolce& Gabbana S/S 2013
My chosen 'Best in show' however, has to be the stunning Dolce& Gabbana Spring/Summer 2014 ready to wear collection. I struggled to see how Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana could top their S/S 2013 collection with their classic 1960's italian inspired prints and to die for silhouette figure hugging basket skirts. However they went and did it again, even after the year they've had!  They have however continued onto another italian heritage theme, this time it's further back than the 60's with more of a ancient rome feel and D&G have certainly found some precious gold artifacts!

Dolce and Gabbana said there show was an imaginary journey to rediscover ancient sicily, and a fantastic journey it was. Stunning gold, waist clinching belts were at the centre of the most delicate gold embellished dresses. The gold didn't stop there either, with small coin shapes sewn together to make a mesmerising mini dress whilst other coins were made larger into hoop earrings or incorporated into messy up-do's. However it wasn't just the gold that was catching everybody's eyes, the similarities shone through from the S/S 13 collection with pretty roman columns and greek temples printed onto midi-length silk dresses. This mix of old greek fabrics and stunning blossom trees worked so well together and created some truly inspiring, magical pieces.

This collection really was a dream to watch, with the models standing tall like real roman princess's all I could imagine was having it all for myself! I would die for anything in this show from the amazing oversized coin belt and gold rush accessories to the delicate lace and silk mix tempting mini dresses! The luxurious blossom print two piece was also another amazing outfit that I can only dream of having in my possession! It was all about the details in this show and Dolce& Gabbana certainly delivered.

Did you love the collection as much as I did? Or were there any other collections that caught your eye? Let me know by commenting below:)
